7:20 p.m. Not to continue to harp on the play of the quarterbacks, but really, it's by far the most interesting part of this game, 21-0 at halftime.
The NU defense doesn't look especially dominant, but Western Kentucky has not threatened to score.
Huskers I-backs Roy Helu and Rex Burkhead look fine. Receivers Brandon Kinnie and Niles Paul have done a nice job. Linebackers Alonzo Whaley and Lavonte David have more than held their own.
But come on, this is about the quarterbacks. Taylor Martinez led two scoring drives in the first quarter before his third stalled. Cody Green the:n entered and directed a 34-yard TD march. Green completed two throws for 11 yards and rushed twice for 11 yards. Helu finished with a powerful 3-yard run.
Martinez then looked shaky in the final two possessions of the first half, misfiring on all four attempts. He was also sacked once.
Zac Lee did not play.
The conclusion: This quarterback competition is far from over.
Defensive end Cameron Meredith left late in the first half with an apparent shoulder or arm problem.
