The Winterfest Ice Fishing Derby at Lake Manawa State Park in Council Bluffs has been postponed due to unsafe ice conditions.
Organizers hope to reschedule the $25,000 event for Feb. 4.
Ice thickness recently measured between four and six inches with a lot of open water, said John Lambertz, chairman of the derby committee.
If the ice remains unsafe to hold the tournament, ice houses will still be given away and the raffle drawing for the 2/4 Arctic Cat 300 four-wheeler will be held. Pre-registrant names will be drawn to win other prizes.
