    Huskers top OU, win quad

NORMAN, Okla. — The No. 9 Nebraska women's gymnastics team captured three individual event titles and won two events en route to a first-place finish in a quad at Oklahoma.

The Huskers scored 196.750 points, topping No. 5 Oklahoma (196.475), No. 25 Minnesota (194.55) and Centenary (188.60).

Lora Evenstad won the floor event title, while juniors Emily Wong and Jamie Schleppenbach captured titles on the beam and floor, respectively. True freshman Jessie DeZiel won her third all-around competition of the season after scoring a 39.50.

The Huskers started on the bars, scoring 49.225 to tie the Sooners for the lead after one rotation. All five Huskers scored above a 9.8, including Evenstad's season-high 9.9.

Nebraska recorded two career-high marks on the balance beam from Papillion-La Vista grad Katelyn Busacker and Wong. Wong captured NU's first event title of the night with her 9.925, while Busacker tied her career-mark by scoring 9.825.

The Huskers return to action Feb. 11 when they host the Masters Classic meet at the Devaney Center at 6 p.m. The Huskers will compete against Washington, Michigan and Southern Utah.
