For our latest installment of Guest List, we caught up with Turbo Fruits, a rowdy quartet from Nashville, Tenn.

Turbo Fruits want you to hear "Butter."

A raw record detailing stories the band says "you would never, ever tell your grandkids," "Butter" is the band's third full-length album. The garage rockers laid down the tracks for their new record with Jim Eno from Spoon and it will be released late in 2012.

For Guest List, we filmed two songs from the album - the album's single, "Sweet Thang," and the song "Ain't the Only One Havin' Fun" - as well as "Mama's Mad Cos I Fried My Brain," which was released as a single from Fat Possum Records in 2009.

The band's been through some lineup changes since getting its start a few years ago, but frontman Jonas Stein thinks they're now as solid as they've ever been.

"For a couple years there, there were some band members coming and going," Stein said. "But we're really stoked to be writing and recording with each other. It's still Turbo Fruits, but an evolved Turbo Fruits."

Guest List filmed the band during its recent performance at The Waiting Room Lounge. Enjoy.

It’s been a long time since Johnny Carson slept in the tiny upstairs room in the modest little house at 306 S. 13th St. in Norfolk.
Carson was born in Iowa and moved to Norfolk with his family in the 1930s. They lived in at least one other house in Norfolk before moving into to the white, wood-frame structure on 13th Street.
