The age-old question “What do you want to be when you grow up?” comes to life this weekend at KidzExplore, sponsored by Bag ‘N Save and No Frills Supermarkets and the Omaha World-Herald.
In it’s 21st year, KidzExplore has become the largest children’s festival in the Omaha area.
Festivities take place Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs.
The “When I Grow Up” theme offers activities that allow children to explore jobs such as builders and architects, archeologists, athletes and artists.
Other activities include the space balloon, bubble wrap tunnel, obstacle course, coloring cafe, bounce houses, face painting, costumed characters, games and food sampling.
A special “toddler village” features games, music, a bouncer and crawl-through tunnels for younger children.
Free with admission to the event is an ID kit provided through Mutual of Omaha and the ChildProtect ID program. The kit provides parents with personal safety information to recover a child who goes missing and is designed to raise awareness of child safety, an effective tool in helping law enforcement authorities searching for a missing child.
Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for children ages three to 12 and free for children age two and under. Save $2 by purchasing tickets in advance at Bag ‘N Save or No Frills Supermarkets. Parking is free.
