The No. 7 Nebraska wrestling team dropped its second consecutive dual to a top-five team, falling to No. 4 Minnesota 26-7 Sunday. The Huskers, who dropped four matches by three points or less, fell to 14-2 on the year and 5-3 in the Big Ten. Minnesota is 10-3 and 7-1.

Nittany Lions roar early to subdue Huskers
Second-ranked Penn State dominated the early matches Friday night to defeat seventh-ranked Nebraska 31-6 before a crowd of 2,673 at NU Coliseum. The Nittany Lions never trailed in the first five matches as they built a 20-0 lead. NU junior Ridge Kiley finally broke the drought in the sixth match by scoring three points in the final seconds to defeat Frank Martellotti 4-3 at 133 pounds. The crowd, subdued as the Huskers fell in early matches, erupted with Kiley’s late flurry.

After dropping two of its first four matches, the No. 7 Nebraska wrestling team won six bouts in a row, beating Michigan State 27-8 Friday night. The Huskers kept their perfect road record intact, improving to 13-1 overall, 10-0 on the road and 4-1 in the Big Ten. The Spartans dropped to 3-7 overall and 1-5 in the conference.

Nebraska's Josh Ihnen needed just 44 seconds. The junior recorded the quickest pin of his career — and first pin of the season — to rally the No. 7 Nebraska wrestling team to a 23-17 victory over Indiana on Friday. The Huskers, who trailed 14-3 after four matches, improved to 11-1 overall and 2-1 in Big Ten duals. Indiana dropped to 6-5 and 0-5 in the conference.
