    Tickets to the 2012 Red-White Spring Game at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln go on sale Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 8 a.m. The intrasquad scrimmage kicks off at 1 p.m. on April 14. Reserved tickets are $10 each, and all seats will be sold on a reserved-ticket basis. A limited number of club seats are available for $15 each. UNL students can attend for free, but each must get a ticket.

    Ex-Husker Pluhowski receives honors

    Former Husker Shannon Pluhowski has been named the World Women’s Bowler of the Year and was also elected to the World Bowling Writers Hall of Fame. Pluhowski is one of just three women to earn both honors in the same year. Also, former Husker All-American Jamie Martin (2006) was elected to the Omaha Bowling Hall of Fame and will be inducted on April 28.

Whatever you call it, the Nebraska men's basketball team is happy to see the second half of the Big Ten schedule. Starting with Thursday's 6 p.m. game at Iowa, the Huskers (10-9, 2-6) will face one team currently ranked in the Top 25 in the next seven games. That's after a stretch of eight games in which seven foes were ranked or had been at some point in January.
